Damiano von Erckert is just another example of why Germany is currently head and shoulders above the rest of Europe when it comes to progressive, thinking man’s house music. Hailing from Cologne, von Erckert plays on his own roots in soul, funk and disco (his father was a DJ) to create a rich collage of sounds in his rough and ready house joints that, refreshingly, don’t take themselves too seriously.
‘All About Lovin’ Me’ is taken off his upcoming ‘Mickey M. and the Marlboro Man’ EP, released through his own consistently excellent imprint ava. Teaming up with legendary Chicago vocalist Peven Everett, this is a wonderful pairing of smooth vocals and a cracking, upbeat house aesthetic. Check it out here:
